Even though we encourage our young martial artists to engage in a variety of classes, we also have one class every Saturday which is designed just for young kids (pre-schoolers) who are taught by fun and experienced martial arts instructors.

Ben Lawson-Black is clearly the next big thing for the Melbourne Taekwondo community and is destined for Taekwondo greatness.

With a string of impressive Taekwondo wins he is clearly on the path to greatness and at this rate it is looking like Ben Lawson-Black is getting a reputation for being ‘undefeatable’ in the Taekwondo world.

Ben’s results at the Gold Coast Taekwondo Open

In the Gold Coast Taekwondo Open ‘Quarter Final’, Ben scored an impressive 16 – 2 points, thrashing his opponent by a startling 14 points! He never saw Ben coming.

In the Gold Coast Taekwondo Open ‘Semi Final’, Ben had another glorious win beating his opponent 12 – 4 points, once more not only beating his opponent but beating him by a lot.

In the Gold Coast Taekwondo Open ‘Final’, a bit closer this time, Ben still pulled off a win 9 – 7 points making him our champion in the Gold Coast Taekwondo Open.

As a Taekwondo club we could no be prouder of Ben Lawson-Black, he is not just a top grade Taekwondo competitor but he is also a skilled martial artist and a charismatic and professional Taekwondo instructor with our club.

Ben has been practicing Taekwondo diligently for over a decade now and it has always been his dream to compete for Australian Taekwondo in the Olympics and we have no doubt that Ben will get there.

We are going to miss Ben while he is studying Taekwondo in Korea for six months but he does so knowing that he has the full support of his Taekwondo club and the Melbourne Taekwondo community.

Our Ringwood Martial Arts Center

Good Shepherd Lutheran Primary School in croydon has recently started Taekwondo classes with Black Taekwondo chief instructor ‘Rod Black’.

The kids will also be competing in the Kixsport league and are one of the first schools to be inducted into the martial arts program.

This is a great win for the martial arts Croydon community and this program will provide great martial arts and sporting opportunities for the children of this prestigious Croydon Primary school.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Primary School introduced Taekwondo as part of their after school sport program in 2011. The program was enthusiastically embraced and quickly developed into a dedicated group of around 20 students across all Year levels.
